ADecTec’s freight management practice specializes in the needs of freight forwarders, including air-cargo and the management of irregular heavy freight.
Our engagements in freight management are primarily technology development assignments. In the case of start-ups, we have created completely new technology platforms to facilitate business. For established companies, we have provided components to enhance the capabilities of existing systems.
Freight forwarders
For a virtual freight forwarder providing door-to-door shipment facilitation, we created a completely new, web-based technology platform compliant with Cargo2000. This platform was developed using state-of-the-art technologies and provided all required functionality to conduct/manage the business.
For a large integrated freight forwarder specializing in domestic and international air cargo, we designed dynamic freight route optimization, international gateway selection, and freight forecasting systems.
For a large integrated freight forwarder, we conducted several studies to improve the efficiency of its sorting hub. Our studies formed the foundation of a series of process design projects. We designed processes for materials handling, plane parking, plane unloading, and determining which shipment should ride on company fleet versus going on commercial flights.
